In Indiana, a man came across Roo living outside near his house and immediately noticed her twisted front legs. However, Roo seemed unaware of her difference. The man constructed a ramp leading up to his porch to provide Roo with food and affection. Before moving away, he contacted Peggy Campbell-Rensel at the Official Humane Association of Clark County out of concern for Roo’s well-being under new tenants.
The shelter showed kindness by accepting Roo and her kitten, and quickly developed a fondness for her upon her arrival. Due to the unique condition of her front legs, there was some uncertainty as to how Roo was able to move around with such ease.
It wasn’t until they witnessed her adorable antics of hopping, rolling and even standing upright on her hind legs like a miniature human that they truly realized how unique she was.
Roo is a pro at navigating her surroundings as it’s all she’s ever experienced. Despite the fact that others find her techniques endearing, Roo sees it as just another day-to-day occurrence. According to Campbell-Rensel, Roo doesn’t even realize that she has any challenges.
Roo’s adorable pose complements her gentle nature so well. The shelter staff has enjoyed getting acquainted with her and showering her with affection, but they are eager to find her a permanent home soon. Roo has adjusted to her new surroundings at the shelter and is now on the hunt for a loving family. It’s important that her new family understands her unique needs and can provide extra assistance if required, but above all, she just needs lots of love and care.
It appears that Roo is unaware of her uniqueness compared to other felines, and the goal is to locate a family who appreciates her for who she is.
