Sunburn had led to the development of cancer, which had progressed to the point where a portion of Pinna’s ear was barely attached. The veterinarians at Bradford Cat Watch Rescue Kittens had to perform a lengthy surgery for four hours to eliminate all the cancerous tissue caused by squamous cell carcinoma in a cat. The entire procedure and post-operative treatment cost the organization £900, which is equivalent to approximately 75.5 thousand rubles! The cat is now in her ten-day healing process and must receive special protection. Specifically, her ears require constant application of factor 50 sunscreen.
The volunteers are hopeful that someone will step up and adopt Pinna. She’s come a long way from being a sickly cat who hissed all the time. Now, she’s gentle, friendly, and loves nothing more than snuggling up to people. Cathy, who has been caring for Pinna, believes that the ideal home for her would be one where she stays indoors and away from direct sunlight. Even if she does go outside, she needs to have her ears protected with a special cream.
