Meet Janie, the newest internet sensation! This tiny kitten was found abandoned on the side of the road in Ontario, Canada a few months ago and has since captured the hearts of thousands of people worldwide. Janie’s unique fur color, resembling that of a baby raccoon, is one of the reasons people adore her so much. After being rescued, she was brought to the Tiny but Mighty Kitten Rescue where Melissa, the founder, took care of her. Despite weighing only 82 grams, Janie was quite an active and vocal kitten. Melissa had a plan to keep her in an incubator for two weeks, bottle-feed her, and introduce her to June, a rescued pregnant cat, once she was medically clear. Janie is now a strong and active kitten who continues to win hearts around the world. Her silvery coat, known as a “fever coat,” typically occurs when the mother is ill while pregnant. Although the color will likely disappear as she grows up, Janie will always be remembered for her unique appearance.
