Meet Phoebie, a cute little puppy who had a tough start to life due to her crooked front legs. Sadly, her previous owners didn’t want to keep her because of her condition, so at the age of just 5 weeks old, they separated her from her mother and put her up for adoption.
It’s a comforting thought that there are still kind-hearted people in the world. Sophie discovered a post online about a kitten in need and wasted no time in offering her assistance, concerned for the little one’s welfare and safety.
Once I adopted the little cat and called her Phoebie, I realized I needed some help in taking care of her. That’s when I turned to Chatons Orphelins Montreal (COM) for assistance. Their compassion and expertise made such a difference in Phoebie’s life, and I’m grateful to have found them.
As soon as she arrived at the shelter, everyone noticed her unique way of moving – crawling on her elbows. It was clear that this young kitten had been through a lot, despite her small size. Weighing in at only one pound, the staff were worried that this unconventional method of getting around would cause her pain and injuries as she continued to grow.
A cute cat was taken to the vet for a routine check-up. The veterinarian found that although her legs were deformed, she was otherwise healthy and had a strong heart. To enable her to walk normally like other cats, it was decided that she should undergo surgery. Despite experiencing some discomfort due to her condition, the feline was brave and resilient throughout the entire medical procedure.
After the surgery, bandages were wrapped around her front legs. However, she was determined to try walking on all four legs.
Observing her determined dedication to walking was genuinely motivating, and it was astounding to see how much she accomplished in a short amount of time. We were amazed as we saw her progress from playing to running and jumping at an impressive speed. Her formidable strength was impressive, and she wore the splints with remarkable ease and persistence.
The cute little pet had received treatment for five weeks, which resulted in significant improvement in the alignment of her front legs. Thanks to the unwavering dedication of the shelter team and Jess, her foster mother, the animal has made remarkable progress towards a full recovery.
The kitty’s well-being improved rapidly before long. Despite resembling an owl, she was reserved for adoption at just three months old. However, her foster parent decided to keep her for an extra two months to make sure she grew into a robust adult before moving to her new home.
In this time frame, Phoebie’s personality underwent a significant transformation. She developed a diva-ish attitude, becoming more sociable and open with her opinions, especially when seeking attention. Moreover, being around other creatures made her very happy, so having a companion during her temporary stay was a delightful experience for her.
We Love Cats and Kittens received an update that Phoebie, the feline with a congenital deformity on her front legs, has turned into a gorgeous and agile cat. She has grown strong and toned legs that give her a sleek appearance. Despite her initial condition, Phoebie now moves effortlessly and is full of energy. Her owners describe her as a mighty and lively animal.
After Phoebie fully recovered from her illness, she was excited to begin a new chapter in her life. The cute and cuddly pup, who was only five months old, was fortunate enough to find a loving and compassionate family who embraced her with open hearts.
