The tabby cat suffered a spinal injury, likely from being stepped on by a farm animal, which left her unable to move her back legs. Jillian wasted no time and rushed the feline to a nearby specialist and emergency vet hospital. However, the doctors informed her that there was nothing they could do to rescue the cat. Despite this, Jillian was determined to do everything in her power to help the tabby survive.
Jillian was looking for solutions to improve Merida’s condition, when Dr. Jackie Holdsworth, a surgeon who specializes in neonatal care, came to her aid. Jillian mentioned that Dr. Holdsworth provided helpful advice and generously sent them many supplies to help take care of Merida. Named after the protagonist in the movie Brave, this tabby feline was resolute about leading a fulfilling life despite being paraplegic.
Once Merida recuperated, she became a formidable feline. She would scurry around, even chasing larger cats that resided in the area. She possessed an unwavering determination to become the strongest cat in the vicinity, despite her physical limitations.
During her initial attempt to behave like a cat, Merida demonstrated her unyielding spirit and fighting prowess. Despite only having two functioning legs, she refused to be deterred and continued to exhibit her boundless energy.
Merida underwent various treatments and therapies to enhance her mobility during the next few months. Her energy skyrocketed when she was provided with a set of wheels.
